With nothing better to do, Congress votes on Confucius Day

What, don’t they have better things to do? In memory of last month's 2,560th birthday of Chinese philosopher Confucius, the House passed a resolution of recognition for "his invaluable contributions to philosophy and social and political thought." The vote results were as follow, 361 supported it, 47 voted “no”, and 13 voted "present".
We could find comfort that they decided to honor Confucius instead of what could have been the preference of some in the Obama Administration. They would have probably preferred the honoring of Mao Tse Tung. There are some in the current administration that would have preferred a revolutionary china man but Congress choice was to honor a philosopher. It must be very disappointing for those in the Obama administration to see that the silent majority is awakening. Undoubtedly, they would prefer Mao’s view that, “passivity is fatal to us, our goal is to make the enemy passive.”
Two other Mao’s quotes to better understand the ideology of Maoists in the Obama Administration:
“Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.”
“The guerrilla must move amongst the people as a fish swims in the sea.”
It is possible that Congress may have been somewhat confused while honoring Confucius. The following quote must have serve as the inspiration for our Congress to enact the resolution; after all, this is their life and the world in which they reside. “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
If they would have continued reading other Confucius’ quotes perhaps, they would have felt differently and had a change of heart. On the other hand, Congressman Ron Paul who has a reputation as Dr. No for his record on wasteful voting, on this one he chose to vote yes. So the only explanation that we can perhaps find in such is that he did what other Congressmen did not and continued to read other Confucian quotes:
“An oppressive government is more to be feared than a tiger.”
" Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire.”
“Faced with what is right, to leave it undone shows a lack of courage.”
“The superior man thinks always of virtue; the common man thinks of comfort.”
“The superior man understands what is right; the inferior man understands what will sell.”
“To know what is right and not to do it is the worst cowardice.”
“The object of the superior man is truth.”
