Wake up America we are in a heap of trouble!

We can talk about the deficit, bailouts, unfunded debt, recovery, The Treasury, The Federal Reserve… You name it, but sadly, for the vast majority of our citizens it is nothing more than abstract conversation for either they don’t know, don’t understand it or don’t care. For others it is irrational blind trust.

Millions, billions and trillions are nothing but a number from 1 thru 9 with a few zeros behind it. It would be irrelevant if the twelve zeros were in front of the decimal point (000000000000.1). This would equal one dime. Sadly, even this would be unknown to many who vote in our presidential elections. When you take the one and put it in front of the zeros, then we have a whole different story.
Our national debt is not far from reaching the 11.3 trillion maximum approved on October 2008 by Congress. When it reaches the limit, they will have to increase it and find someone to lends us the money, something that no one wants to do anymore. Would you lend money to some one who is so indebted that has resorted to counterfeiting in order to pay his debt? The debt limit increase will be needed by our government in order to pay the Federal employees and meet other obligations. The Federal Reserve has become our only lender and they will have to print more money and lend it to the Treasury. This concept is the same as if you were to think that you would have more money by taking what you have in your right pocket and moving it to your left pocket.
Our unfunded debt exceeds 60 trillion. Our budget deficit this year is going to exceed one trillion and will remain that way for years to come. There is no way that we could ever dig ourselves out of this hole even if we all were taxed into poverty. We could agree that this rhetoric does not mean much to many because it is hard to visualize. So I thought it could be made a bit easier with a picture.
As the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words”.
Did this help you any?
Can you still believe in a recovery without a collapse?
Is it really believable that our government could be that incompetent?
Is there any possibility that we have a government that is for the people?
