The futile Health Care battle
By P Alfonso on Mar 10, 2010 | In 1. The Nation
Obama Care or not it does not seem to matter as we are quickly heading towards what could become Medical Armageddon. Most still fail to realize that we are now living in a bankrupted nation and lack understanding of what all of this means. To no avail, the people and politicians have been bickering and negotiating for over a year on how to proceed with the nation's Health Care system.
Behind of all of the infighting in Washington on modifying our Health Care there is one thing that they won't tell you but all agree on, they do not know how to fix or pay for Medicare and Medicaid and want it off their books. They also do not have the money to pay for the uninsured. Visit the following links and see how quickly the system is deteriorating. The medical system in England faces a lot of criticism and things are about to get much worse. Is our nation heading in the same direction? See what is about to happen in Miami as it could set the stage for the nation to follow.
Very likely, we are heading towards one of two possible Health Care systems at least for some time:
We can have a Socialized system in which the government manages and controls the care and who receives it based on the age criteria, priorities set forth by government and how the person manages his/her health. This system has been properly characterized as having "Death Panels" as in many cases they will pull the plug instead of paying.
Or we can have one in which there will no longer be a guaranteed care without the ability to finance one's own service, which we could name "Pay or Die".
Either way there is no happy ending for the chronically ill and for the poor in poor health. Considering more and more Americans are becoming poor it is easy to see where we are heading. Just think how much more manageable Social Security would be if a few million of the elderly were to be scrapped from their roster. Let's us face reality instead of just looking for a miracle, with the presently $2 trillion yearly deficit, soon unlimited free medical care will be a thing of the past.
What will be the future of Health Care?
