January 20th, the beginning of the end

They pushed us off the cliff and now they think that we can be saved by a miracle. As more people begin to feel the pain, it becomes harder to hide the status of our economy. We are going to survive but there is going to be a lot of pain. It is beyond my comprehension on what the party is all about on January 20th. It is a clear indication on how naïve many in our society really are.
Follow up:
Barack Obama will be inaugurated in just a few days. I have never seen a person change at a more accelerated rate than he has. He went from being an unelectable candidate and the most liberal Senator to a George W. Bush. Except for the interpretation of what constitutes torture they have become almost the same person with a different face. Of course, if we become victims of another terrorist attack on his clock as his predecessor did, we could see him change farther by redefining water boarding as a picnic by the pool and Guantanamo as a beach resort for America haters.
I would like to know where the people that are forecasting a possible economic recovery in the second half of 2009 are getting their information. They are most definitely not looking at the facts of the Obama’s administration economic plan and continuous changes. I refer to it as the Obama’s administration plan and not Barack Obama’s plan because we also need to accept the fact that he has no clue as to what to do, so much for the illusion of leadership. The dollars to be spend and the unemployment figures change by the hour. We started with using the second half of TARP to finance a stimulus plan and now we don’t even know where that money is going to go and for what, as a matter of fact nobody seems to know what was done with the first half. Talks about a 700 billion plan have changed and now there may be another trillion. Heck, we can’t keep track of it anymore and we can also wonder if they can. The original money was going to be used to create 1.5 million new jobs, then it became two million, then 2.5 million, then three million and now is not even to create four millions but to save four millions from being lost. Such assurance and determination should help build our confidence, and they are wandering why people are not spending and instead are saving for hard times. It is a sign of the trust that exists on our leadership. The people are slowly beginning to wake up to the reality, as the government and the media can no longer hide it.
As we sink into the economic abyss, our socialist government decided that to allow a free market to take its course was inhumane. Their concept of help is not throwing a rope or lending a hand. They appear to think that by pushing the bottom farther away we will be allowed to forever float out of economic disaster. There is a bottom and when we eventually hit it, the damage and the pain will be even greater. Reagan once quoted the most dangerous words in the English dictionary, as been “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”
For decades, most of our citizens have behaved like spoiled brats and our government officials in order to remain popular have allowed them to get away with it. We have been living in an artificial world full of trivia and waste because we did not have to worry with basic needs such as shelter and food. All of this is coming to an end as home foreclosures are leaving millions homeless and procurement of food may soon begin to be a concern to many. It is shameful and a sign of the disaster upon us that 10% of the population in the state of Florida is now receiving Food Stamp and we are nowhere near the bottom. They have even change the name to make it sound less drastic as it is now called the Food Assistance Program (FAP). So in the future, when you here that name, remember that it is nothing other than a beautified name for the misery of Food Stamps recipients.
Our only hope is that the pain in the next two to four years will wake up our citizens and in the future, they elect a new breed of public officials that will bring back our Constitution and the basic principles that made our country the greatest on earth. Hopefully many of our citizens may come to the realization that we are responsible for ourselves and we are not to entrust that responsibility to the government for it was that mentality that has destroyed the American dream.
