Has Glenn Beck turned you off?
By P Alfonso on Apr 11, 2010 | In 1. The Nation

If you are a faithful viewer of his show of back when he was still at CNN it is most likely that you have during the past few months noticed a big change and a morphing Beck. Yes, back then he brought something new and real debate worth listening. He carried it with a vengeance when he entered Fox News but you are probably wondering where the old Glenn Beck went. He has definitely changed his message. He now sounds more like a Republican NeoCon elitist who may have sold out his audience with $32 million in earnings for 2009. He may still be the Libertarian Patriot that he professes to be but his present message is no longer along that line. Where has the integrity that he preaches on the 9-12 principles gone?
Lately he is not bringing much information to his show and has dropped any important guests. Really, this week he had Al Sharpton and told us how much they agreed or disagreed. It is very likely that most of his viewers failed to understand what Sharpton was doing in his show. This week’s program also included coverage on the historical religious faith of our nation. For this, he made sure to thank Fox News for allowing him to discuss it. Thanks Fox News, how many things do you not allow Glenn Beck to discuss.
Beck also frequently attacks the 9/11 Truthers who want questions answered. Does Beck no longer promote the search for Truth? What is wrong in asking questions and expecting answers without passing judgment until the public is satisfied with the answers. What has become of his "Demand Answers" logo? Really Beck, is it undemocratic to ask questions or is it against Fox rules to ask certain questions? He criticizes those who legitimately are asking for proof of Obama’s birth which goes against his rhetoric of finding the truth. Whether agreed or not the point Birthers make is that if Obama would have provided an unquestionable birth certificate all or this talk would have already gone away but instead they have spent millions trying to block those who have challenged it in the courts. Has Glenn Beck betrayed the quest for truth by picking and choosing when it should apply or do Fox keep his hands tied around his back?
Alex Jones has become a regular critic of Beck and his viewership on Prison Planet is rising almost as fast as Beck’s did on Fox. Are people perhaps tuning to Alex’s show looking for the substance that Beck has lost? Beck wastes entire shows repetitiously attacking Obama of being a Marxist as if his audience doesn’t already believe in such. It was disgusting to watch him this week going after Obama’s mother and father, what a waste; that soap is not the intelligent conversation that he preaches and his audience expects when tuning into his show. Although much time is spent by Beck, saying that Obama is a Socialist much of his behavior does not support it and Ron Paul has a different view.
What about important guests, when was the last time that Ron Paul or Jim DeMint appeared in his show. We may wonder whether he has not invited them or they no longer want to appear on his show. He spends too much time repetitiously trashing Obama who most of his audience already believe he works for the oligarchs that picked him and financed his election. Obama says one thing to appease those who voted for him and then does another. As an example we can mention that he is late in closing Guantanamo, has escalated the wars and after nine years the fact he is not near bringing to trial the detainees. Obama is allowing the bankers to rob the middle class. It makes no difference what party is in power the people are always the ones who lose.
Socialist or Capitalist it does not matter much to the oligarchs for they control both the government and the economy. Didn’t Bush fill the coffers of the Military Industrial Complex and oil companies while bankrupting the nation? How many conservatives now realize that they foolishly voted for him twice? The conservative media which works to maintain the status quo is now speaking of Mitt Romney as being the favorite in 2012. They want conservatives to forget that Ron Paul is who won the straw poll at CPAC. Mitt Romney is the guy responsible for passing the disastrous Massachusetts Health Care program.
Inexplicably Glenn Beck is promoting a DC march on August 28th. The plight of the people is for unity and freedom and Glenn Beck has decided to split the crowd by having a march for those who idolize Glenn Beck. Definitely, there is something wrong here that does not add up. Last year’s commemorative DC march of September 12th will take place sponsored by Freedom Works and The 9-12 Project. This is a non-partisan group of Patriots concerned about freedom but Beck fails to mention that this event will take place. Visit the United in Action (UIA) website and learn who supports them. Glenn Beck has ignored and failed to explain why he is not endorsing the rally promoted by the original 9-12 project. Shouldn’t his audience begin to question if he is really promoting the best interest of our nation and individual freedom as he professes. Perhaps the time has come to reprogram the DVR and show Glenn Beck that his audience has noticed that he is off message and let Fox News know that they will not support the censoring of Beck’s show.
Let’s not be delusional, Fox New is on the side of Fox News and not necessarily the people and Glenn Beck works for them.
