Brace yourself for another stimulus package
By P Alfonso on Nov 29, 2009 | In 1.5 The Economy
Congress is quietly preparing another stimulus package to slow down States and Counties layoffs for lack of funds. In other words, another government jobs saving multi-billions bailout is coming soon. This should not come as a surprise for they have been mulling it for a while. Such increases on the national debt do not hurt it anymore for no one is lending us the money and it is done with worthless fresh printed money that will help in making the already unpayable debt worthless. Does it matter anymore since they have already killed the dollar? The only reason it has not collapsed yet is because everyone else in the world is holding the stinking corpse looking for a place to dump it. Just look at the current price of precious metals skyrocketing and the value of the dollar dipping against other currencies.
Those who still believe that our economy can be saved are the laughing stock of those who are preaching it. They don't bother to see that is written all over, even by the press which is so heavily criticized for misleading the public reports it. Most people still prefer to stay in Wonderland and pick and choose the appeasing and misleading headlines.
The Federal Reserve and The Treasury have pushed the economic disaster as far back as they can, but they cannot stop it. The first quarter of 2010 could be it unless they manage to pull another card from under the sleeves. A most likely retail sales slump will kill many of last year’s survivor retailers which will bring another big round of unemployment. How many unemployed can stay on the Federal payroll indefinitely as no new jobs are created by the continuous shrinking private sector? How many more millions in addition to the 37 last reported can be fed with Food Stamps? It cannot be done forever.
